In addition to our blog stories, we would like to start sharing short video stories & clips of the cemetery as well.
On October 18, 2022, Tragic True Life Tales was presented by Jill Moore of the cemetery committee and Matt Thorenz of the Moffat Library via simulcast! (a first for the library) This presentation was a lively collection of tragic tales that were reported in local newspapers nearly 100 years ago. Learn the fates of several locals and see what the incidences tell us about the times in which they lived. This program is NOT for the squeamish! (Please note: it is in two separate parts. Jill’s is the video portion below and Matt’s part 2 is audio only due to technical issues.)
This first video was presented on 24 Feb 2022 by Sherri Price Bruen and Jill Moore about some of the black USCT service members in our cemetery. Sherri is a descendent of several of these men and Jill is on the cemetery committee. Their presentation was hosted by the Moffat Library and was dedicated to Linda Standish.
